Join us for the ultimate winter getaway with a two-night stay in the Hermitage, Aoraki/Mount Cook, and a guided Ski the Tasman experience with Mt Cook Ski Planes and Helicopters.

Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, The Hermitage offers a two-night escape in this iconic hotel seamlessly blended with an exhilarating alpine adventure. Nowhere else in New Zealand can stay in the Heart of the National Park at night and ski a glacier during the day.

Your stay begins with a warm welcome at the Hermitage, where you'll be captivated by the stunning views of the snow-capped peaks surrounding the hotel. Indulge in the comfort of our newly refurbished Aoraki Wing rooms, providing a cosy retreat after a day of outdoor exploration. Enjoy breakfast and a delicious buffet dinner daily in the Alpine Restaurant. Our menu is an ever-evolving contemporary blend of locally sourced produce, rich in Kiwi fare and infused with international flavours.

The highlight of your adventure awaits as you embark on a thrilling skiing experience on the Tasman Glacier with Mount Cook Ski Planes and Helicopters. Board the only operating ski-plane in the Southern Hemisphere or a helicopter for an exhilarating journey to New Zealand’s largest glacier for this once in a lifetime experience. With expert guides, you'll navigate the Tasman Glacier's slopes, experiencing the rush of skiing down two of New Zealand’s longest ski runs against the backdrop of towering peaks. With Ski runs up to 10km long, you’ll get a chance to stop on the way down to visit the incredible, natural ice cave formations on the glacier. It’s the most remote and incredible backcountry skiing you can do in New Zealand!

After a 5 hour experience on the snow, including a picnic lunch on the glacier, you’ll be airlifted on a scenic flight through the Tasman Valley, below the peaks of Mt Cook as you fly back to base. On your return to the Hermitage, we would suggest you enjoy a cosy drink by the fire in Snowline Bar before a delicious buffet dinner at Alpine Restaurant.

This winter getaway promises the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure in one of New Zealand's most stunning alpine settings.
