AVAILABILITY
We can accommodate weddings in the Hermitage from May – September. So if you are looking for the perfect winter alpine venue look no further. Often the National Park is blanketed in snow making it the most magical location for a winter wedding.
STAYING AT THE HERMITAGE
The Hermitage has been a New Zealand icon for more than 140 years and offers a stunning alpine retreat for this very special occasion. We have accommodation to suit all budgets which includes premium hotel rooms with stunning mountain views to mid-range motel units. We provide a discount of 10% off any room type to all wedding guests and a 50% discount for the bride and groom.
YOUR CEREMONY
We have an indoor and outdoor option for your wedding ceremony. Our outdoor lawn offers a dramatic backdrop of Aoraki/Mount Cook, Mt Wakefield, and Mt Sefton. This provides a once in a lifetime experience for you and your guests.
Alternatively, if you would prefer an indoor venue, or if required due to weather, the Panorama Room offers an intimate venue with magnificent views out every window.
RECEPTION SPACE
Your wedding reception will be held in the Panorama Room. Built in 1965, the Panorama Room is elegant yet intimate with 180-degree views of the surrounding mountains. The room can be set up in various styles, and our dedicated team will work with you to create a layout that best suits your wedding. The Panorama Room can seat up to 80 guests, including room for a dancefloor later in the evening.
PRICING
To hold your ceremony on our front lawn the price is $1,500. This includes the hire fee, seats for up to 80 guests, and a plain arch. You are more than welcome to add flowers to the arch and any other decorations you may want.
If you wish to have your ceremony and reception with us there is a minimum spend of $6,000 in the Panorama Room.
DINING OPTIONS
We can offer you a variety of dining options from thoughtfully created three-course meals to more relaxed sharing style platters for the table. Our team will work with you to create a menu that suits your preferences with options to add canapes after the ceremony for your guests to enjoy while you take photos. Our team will go through all menu options with you, ensuring your wedding meal is perfect on your special day.
VIEWING THE VENUE
We understand that many of our prospective wedding guests will be visiting from other parts of New Zealand and overseas. We do not have a preferred list of vendors. If you have already booked your celebrant or photographer and they are local we suggest talking to them. Alternatively, there are some local wedding vendors listed here.Â
